MADRID, Spain - Justine Henin has been named the winner of the Whirlpool 6TH SENSE Player of the Year Award for 2007, announced on court at the season-ending 2007 Sony Ericsson Championships in Madrid. The award, now into its third year, honours the player who scored the point that best demonstrated the most 6TH SENSE intuition. It was presented to Justine by Dino Olivetti, Director, Brand Marketing, Whirlpool Europe.

Thousands of people across Europe participated, with 34% choosing Justine's shot as the point that best reflected 6TH SENSE intuition sharp intelligence, unbeatable performance and pinpoint precision. In second place was Maria Sharapova with Anna Chakvetadze in third.
Commenting on receiving the award for the second time, having won the inaugural award in 2005, Justine said: "It's great to win the award again. Having been voted by people across all the whole of Europe makes it very special, even more so when you look at the other players and shots. I love the idea that individual shots are rewarded and remembered. 6TH SENSE, intuition and precision is very important for all of us as we are playing against great sportswomen every week and this was an inspiration when I recently launched my 6TH SENSE Tennis Academy, allowing me to share what I have learnt over the years."
Dino Olivetti from Whirlpool Europe commented: "Justine winning the award twice in three years demonstrates what a great player she is. We are very proud to hear that Justine has been inspired to name her new academy the 6th Sense Tennis Academy. It demonstrates that she places the same importance on 6TH SENSE, intuition and precision in her game as Whirlpool does with its innovation. It's a delight to present the 6TH SENSE Award to Justine again."
"With each year that goes by, this award has gone from strength to strength and one that truly demonstrates the great relationship between Whirlpool and The Tour," added Tour CEO Larry Scott.
